Events & Other Content
After graduation, Rich went about trying to earn a crust as a micro-indie. Firstly, he built a clone of an Apple computer (which worked great). Then came corporate videos, animations, pop promos, whatever; a boy's got to eat! While still at uni', he was making a few promos for nightclubs, which led to other ideas, and eventually, he was in front of the camera. This required him to invent an alter-ego with parts of his personality turned up to 11—some loved 'Evil Ricardo', others not so much!!! Below is a tiny toe in the water off that content pool, along with more recent live event filming.
College@day/Raves@night
So.... some mates were making music and playing raves. Not being much cop at making (decent) music, Rich was relegated to the back of the stage, plonking away on a keyboard. Although if you're interested you can see him in his floppy-haired college days when 'we' got an award for something. Don't ask what it was for; it was about 1992, and A LOT has happened since! ;-)
Graphic explorations
Some of these are from Rich's archive, done for commercial work in the nineties (local bars and clubs), others are third party demo reels who inspired him to learn more. Back then, he was exploring new technology like gen-locks and capture cards, so, yes, that is him raving to his crap music !!
Yorkshire Wartime Experience
A WWI & WWII re-enactment event over a long weekend near Bradford, West Yorkshire in the UK. A sizeable crowd come to see 'living history' enthusiasts, many of whom set up display areas, some even having portable museums. And, of course, the fabulous mock battles!
A Secret Agent in the Making!
A fun 'corporate' video to have made, where one of us got to act out his wildest dreams: dressing up like a special forces member and dashing around 'Baddie HQ', followed by a 'SkySpyCam'! Yes, we invented the drone in 2002!!!
Upgrading my animations
As a didactic it was obvious to Rich that should he want to achieve anything in media, then he had no choice but to familiarise himself with software (on a Mac clone he put together) like After Effects. This promo for Gatecrasher in '97 was an early effort.
New Year's Eve party
'Evil Ricardo' from TV show 'UK Uncovered' and others, pops into HOME in Lincoln to sample some VIP style Hollywood glamour. And promptly spoils it. Dick.
Wartime in the Vale
A yearly event for re-enactors and military history enthusiasts near Worcester, which includes vehicle displays and living history displays.
24-7 Clubber TV
One of our club-based products where we put people on the telly (well, this was an online variant that ran 24/7 on a streaming platform called FilmOn). A fun product for all involved.
Majestyk New Year's Eve '96
Back in the day; this video shoes just how amazing this club was at its pomp, with thousands of clubbers, amazing atmosphere, great sense of fun and NOTHING bad at all!!! A big sarcastic 'thanks' to those 'professional' football players whose regrettable behaviour brought this place some much undeserved bad PR.
Heckling the 'Comedian'?
Ricardo from the 'cult' TV series "UK Uncovered" spent a couple of nights at the fantastic HOME in Lincoln, hanging out with the punters, being rude and generally f*©king about. No change there then. Oh yeah, it was also a celebration of all things WONKA.
Proper Posh Nights Out!
A short glitzy promo which illustrates that clubbing culture has come a long way from the nicotine-stained sticky-carpeted dingy holes of the 80s & 90s! Still, those dumps had their merits too!!!
Live Queue Banter
For about ten years we brought a certain flavour of clubbing into your living room via satellite and cable TV channels. A large part of this was based on deliberately foolish/childish banter with clubbers. #STRONG LANGUAGE#
Reality bashing
Another 'reality' TV 'star' makes another personal appearance - except this time it all gets a bit weird thanks to various confessions and revelations. And 'Evil Ricardo' (Richard's alter-ego) makes it weirder. As Always. #STRONG LANGUAGE#
Section 77
A blast from the past here, shot at the end of his degree when he was just starting up on a shoestring budget. The club had only just opened and was enjoying a meteoric ascension to THE place to be: for celebrities, movers 'n' shakers, wannabees, footballers and the rest!
